About Us
/i/Alpacas/Daveandlinde.jpg

We are a small family with a BIG dream.  Our log home on the farm is one that we built a few years ago.  Here the pace is slower and people take the time to wave to you as they pass by.  Our community is Timberlake, North Carolina. We started our alpaca business in 2004. We purchased our herd focusing on genetics and a plan to build for the future.  Our Foundation Herd come from some of the best: Peruvian Black Mesquite, Peruvian Matador, Blue Blizzard, C Peruvian Silvino, MFI Scimitar, Peruvian Royal Fawn, Peruvian Royal Forest, Acero Marka's Mr. Know-It All, CPeruvian Black Knight, Jeronimo, Big Red Chief, Aspen Blizzard.

DAVE'S STORY:

One day I was sharing with a young man "How to Catch a Dream". When I had finished giving my "theory" the young man shared his dream with me.  I could hear the excitment in his voice as he started sharing about alpacas. He shared with me some of what he had learned about alpacas.  He explained the fiber, the colors, the value, and the potential profit one could make in just a few years. I took the magazine he loaned me and headed for the coffee shop.  I had some reading to do. I was fascinated with what I was learning. Afterwards, I headed home to share with my family.

We immediately signed up for a membership with AOBA and received their monthly catalog, which helped build our dream and get our family involved in raising alpacas. Our next step was to make "Farm Visits". We visited several farms, some in North Carolina and some farms in other states. We purchased our foundation herd from a farm in Ohio. To help us become more educated about these wonderful animals and the alpaca business, we also attended the National Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. The Convention was so exciting. We attended many workshops, classes, shows, an auction and a fashion review..whew!! It was very thrilling. I am most impressed, though, with the people in this industry. They are some of the greatest people one will ever meet. Most alpaca owners love what they are doing and want to help others succeed as well.
